We hope our first
day on this southern journey isn't a prelude of things to come.
Bound for Charleston, we had a rogue wave during a gale off the NC coast
almost rip our dinghy from it's davits. And in the process of
saving the dinghy, our headsail became tattered. Exciting day! (11/02/05)

Dolphins seem to
know when you need a 'pick me up.' As we approached
Wrightsville Beach, our alternate port after the gale ordeal,
these dolphins came along for a 30-minute ride - cheering up the crew.
Amazing creatures. (11/02/05)

Every story has
a hero. The hero in our sail repair story is our good friend Brad
Parker. We called him at his Carolina Beach retreat and he was
able to help us get our sail repaired (in 24 hours!) and to pick up all
the items we had lost overboard in the dinghy. We thought he'd
like to be the first to test out the repaired sail. (11/06/05)

Bailey takes a
nap with his petite girlfriend, Miss Piggy (Brad's dog) during our day
sail. (11/06/05) |

Brad's brother,
Jay aka 'The Colonel', joined us for the trip. (11/06/05) |

One last shot
from our time in Carolina Beach (great anchorage, btw). Brad and his
lovely lady, Tammy. (11/06/05)
